Islamic Based Safety© (IBS)

IBS is a cultural approach for managing, improving and communicating workplace safety to Muslims and non-Muslims employees based on Islamic principles. It provides culturally tailored information and strategies for transferring ownership (and dignity) for workplace safety to Muslim employees. In addition, it is a behavior alignment process designed to reduce negative or inappropriate safety behaviors, and incorporate Islamic behavioral science into the workplace.

To illustrate some IBS examples used to communicate cultural safety to Muslim and Non-Muslim executives, engineers, employees and safety professionals, five (5) key subjects that constitute a basic framework for a safety program are presented.

Only the cultural relationship is explained for the above subjects, and not the technical safety program elements. For clarity purposes, I have briefly introduced each subject area with present day safety information to assist the safety professional [reader] in better understanding the IBS methodology and its application.
